CTP Showcase—Houston Chronicle An integrated, fully automated, NELA 48 (!) -Bin Sortation System (up & down stackers) in connection four NELA Vision PunchBenders controlled by NELA NPS Software is used to sort the multiple products printed at their facility. NELA's NPS closes the automation loop by providing Plate Tracking and plate quality information for each plate to their workflow production management software. The four lines are capable of handling more than 1,000 plates per hour. The 48-bin sortation system sorts and stacks plate gently according to customer' sortation criteria. The 48 bin stacker was designed to provide optinal space-performation ration. A smaller footprint was made possible by putting a second row of stacker bins on top of the other one. An up/down distribution unit sorts the plates according to the barcode information on the plates. Inline plate quality control measurements (NELA PQM Software) enhance a smooth and fully automated prepress operation. Video:
